Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Dover
Carl Edwards – Carl Edwards had top five potential last fall at Dover but his race wasn’t incident free. During a caution around lap 311 he made 3 pit stops because he had a loose wheel that was related to wheel spacer issues. Prior to his problems he ran extremely well (Yahoo Race Chart) and was clearly better than his 15th place finish.
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson had a strong car last fall at Dover but his race wasn’t incident free. He started in 5th and at the time of the lap 40 competition caution he was running in 4th. That’s when trouble first struck because he got a speeding penalty that dropped him back to the high-twenties. While he was racing his way towards to the front on lap 104 he came to pit road for an unexpected pit stop because he had a broken rear axle seal. That sent his car to the garage and led to his 41st place finish. If he had an incident free race I think he had easy top five potential.
