Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Charlotte
Every week in NASCAR there’s drivers who have problems in the race and walk away with an asterisk mark result. Understanding misleading finishes and knowing how good drivers truly were can help give you the edge on your competition. Many fantasy racers just look at results and assume that’s how good drivers were. This post explains who had a misleading result last fall at Charlotte, and how good they truly were.
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch had a very strong car last fall at Charlotte. Strength wise I thought he had the second best car (PROS Rankings). If you just look at results you’ll see a 20th next to his name. That result is very misleading. During a caution shortly after lap 190 while he was running in 2nd he was coming to pit road but he had hard contact with Kyle Larson and after that his car was never the same. If his race would’ve been incident free I think he was a lock for a top five.
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson had a great car last fall. When it came to running the high-line nobody could do it better. In the race he started in 31st and steadily climbed his way up through the running order. Strength wise I thought he easily had top five potential if his race would’ve been incident free. His downfall in the race was when he had contact with Kyle Busch under caution when they were coming to pit road. At the time of that incident he was running in 3rd.
