Charlotte Coca Cola 600 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

NOTE: This session was mostly about drivers getting their cars setup for qualifying.

Kyle Busch – Started in race trim to get an idea on how his setup worked. Didn’t get in a lap in qualifying trim until the closing minutes of practice. No other highly notable driver ran in race trim.

Brian Scott – Started in race trim. Reported tat his car is worse through the run. Losing the nose and right rear grip.

Kurt Busch – Jumped to the top of the speed chart in the final two minutes when the track was hotter.

Ryan Newman – During his first run in qualifying trim he reported that his balance was close. During a later run his crew chief reported they learned what they needed to know.

Denny Hamlin – Focused on qualifying only.
