Michigan NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Jimmie Johnson – Jeff Gordon was impressed by a run he made about 20 minutes into the session. Was happy with adjustments made to his car. Said he knows where the grip on the track is now.
Chase Elliott – After completing a 13 lap run to start the session he said, “There was a lot of short-run speed, but it was just too snug.” His team is pretty pleased with his car despite being down on the speed charts. Got slightly into the wall in the closing minutes. Liked his car following his final run and felt confident. Ran a lot of laps.
Kurt Busch – His team focused on getting his car more into the track this session. Said his car is getting better. Did some experimenting this session.
Brad Keselowski – In a pre-practice interview he said his car has been really good but there’s still a lot of questions to be answered.
