Pocono Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Greg Biffle – Greg Biffle has been solid at Pocono. He’s a former champion and since 2014 he’s only once finished lower than 16th. Unfortunately his one result lower than 16th came in the race this spring. In June he simply wasn’t competitive. He finished 26th, had a 22nd place average running position and earned the 22nd best driver rating. In the six Pocono races prior to that he had an 8.3 average finish and a 15.2 average running position. Last August he was likely about low teens good but finished 5th when fuel entered the equation late. In that race his average running position was 14th and he ran in the top fifteen in 70% percent of the laps completed. In June 2015 he had a solid race but finished better than he performed. In the event he finished 12th but don’t overlook his 20th place average running position and 16th best driver rating. In August 2014 Biffle started in 25th, had a 17th place average running position, led 11 laps and finished 5th. It should be noted that his good result is largely the product of him not making a late pit stop and nearly everyone else pitting. If that didn’t happen I think he would’ve finished in the teens. In June 2014 he finished 16th, earned the 17th best driver rating and had an 18th place average running position. (Yahoo B Driver)

AJ Allmendinger – AJ Allmendinger hasn’t had a high level of success at Pocono. His average finish is 24.0 and he’s only finished in the top ten twice in his 17 races. The good news regarding Allmendinger is that in the last two races here he’s had his two best results in the last half decade. This spring he started in 32nd but wheeled the #47 home to a 16th place finish. His average running position was 18th. I know that result doesn’t sound great but it’s much better than all of his other finishes excluding his performance last August. In that event in August 2015 he finished 7th. It’s important to note by no means was he that good. That result is very misleading and is the product of how the race ended when fuel entered the equation. Strength wise he was really about 20th place good. His average running position that afternoon was 19th. In 5 of the 6 Pocono races leading up to that event he finished in the 30’s. In the one race he didn’t finish in the thirties he finished 21st. (Yahoo B Driver)
