Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Pocono
Every week in NASCAR there’s drivers who have problems in the race and walk away with an asterisk mark result. Understanding misleading finishes and knowing how good drivers truly were can help give you the edge on your competition. Many fantasy racers just look at results and assume that’s how good drivers were. This post explains who had a misleading result this spring at Pocono, and how good they truly were.
Tony Stewart – Tony Stewart had a pretty sporty car this spring at Pocono. Performance wise he was likely right around 10th place good. Unfortunately he didn’t finish around 1oth and instead finished 34th after wrecking on lap 93 shortly after a restart.
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson had a great car this spring at Pocono but finished a misleading 35th. The reason for his asterisk mark result can be traced to when he wrecked with 38 laps to go while running around 4th. If he didn’t wreck he certainly had top five potential.
Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick finished 32nd this spring. That result doesn’t reflect her level of performance. She showed solid mid-teens potential. Just 1 lap before she was collected in Tony Stewart’s wreck she was running in 15th.
