Charlotte NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Martin Truex Jr. – Only ran 8 laps in race trim. Said his car was pretty good for the weather right now. Spent the final hour in qualifying trim. Using the same chassis that dominated here in the spring and won at Chicagoland a few weeks ago. This week he’s a little under the weather.

Jimmie Johnson – Had good speed in race trim. During a run an hour into practice he told his team he was happy with adjustments.

Kasey Kahne – Started with a 10 lap run. “Pretty good balance. It’s turns everywhere pretty nice.” Following a run 45 minutes into practice he told his team that he liked the feel of his car during that run better. Went to qualifying trim with about 30 minutes remaining.
