Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Kansas
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson had a strong car this spring at Kansas but finished 17th. It’s important to note that’s a misleading result. While he was running around 6th with 35 laps to go during a caution he was caught speeding on pit road which dropped him back in the running order. In our exclusive PROS Rankings we have him listed as having the 7th best car.
Martin Truex Jr. – This spring at Kansas Martin Truex Jr. was the class of the field. If you just looked at his 14th place result you would never know it. In the race he started on the pole, earned the best driver rating, led the most laps (172) and ran the most fastest laps. If he didn’t have to make a second pit stop while leading with 52 laps to go because of loose lug nuts which dropped him back to 20th I think he would’ve won.
