Kansas NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Kurt Busch – Sounds like he’ll be points racing this weekend based on his interview. Focused on race trim for most of the session. During his first run in qualifying trim he jumped to the top of the speed chart. This weekend he’s been penalized and will lose his pit stall selection.

Martin Truex Jr. – Focused exclusively on qualifying trim. Reportedly he’s very confident this weekend.

Ryan Newman – Started with a 5 lap run in race trim. Balance wise he said his car was close, but he was a little loose and on the splitter.

Kyle Busch – Was penalized 30 minutes for swerving his car post-race following Charlotte. Was in qualifying trim the entire session. Jumped to the top of the speed chart in the closing minutes.
