Kansas NASCAR Practice #2 Notes
Paul Menard – His car reportedly handled well early in the session and his spotter liked his line. Wants better drive off. His team worked on fine tuning his car. Ended the session at the top of the speed chart. At the end of the session he said, “It’s turning good, we could use better drive off.”
Jimmie Johnson – His team was surprised that they are starting in 21st. Was in qualifying trim the entire session yesterday. Reportedly he’s not too worried about starting that deep. His team is treating this weekend as a race that they need to win. “It bounces after landing and I’m free on both ends.” Didn’t feel comfortable with his car early. During a run around the midway point he said, “big improvement.”

Kasey Kahne – Was parked for the first 15 minutes because he made an extra lap following qualifying. Was down on the speed charts.
Austin Dillon – Early in practice he reported that he was too loose all the way around the track. Said his car wasn’t bad. Looking for a little more grip. Tried a few different things this session. Wants more speed but comfort is their main goal.
