Talladega NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Carl Edwards – Had a vibration during his first run by himself. Later in practice they were still concerned about the vibration so they had him drive in a pack to see it it went away. Following his run in the draft his team changed his rear gear.
Brad Keselowski – His car looked very sporty and he was able to pass Johnson who was leading the pack essentially by himself. Worked hard to lead the pack and keep people behind him. In the second half of practice he ran by himself and was likely in qualifying trim.

Chase Elliott – Spent a lot of time racing in the pack. Worked on getting his ride heights right. He said he’s going to keep it simple this week and just try to win. Said he’s accepted the challenge and he’s ready to give it his best effort.
Austin Dillon – Only worked on qualifying trim today. His team didn’t want to take the risk of wrecking. Using the same chassis he’s used in all three plate races in 2016 (3 for 3 in terms of finishing in the top ten.)
