Martinsville NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Joe Gibbs Racing – All the Joe Gibbs Racing cars were solely focused on qualifying trim this session.

Jeff Gordon – Driving the #88. Started in race trim and had good speed. His first run was 16 laps. 30 minutes into practice his team transitioned to qualifying trim.

Brian Scott – Wasn’t happy with his handling. Got into the wall 50 minutes into the session. The damage looked to essentially be cosmetic. He’s using a brand new chassis this weekend.

Kurt Busch – He was the first driver to get out on the track. He started in qualifying trim and ran two laps during his first run. Was in qualifying trim the entire session. Late in the session he was lacking grip in the rear of his car.
