Texas NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Kyle Busch – Near the start of practice he had a tire go down and hit the wall hard which brought out the caution. He said it killed the right side. He will be going to a backup car. He was originally using a new chassis. Didn’t get back out on the track until the final 30 minutes. Was in qualifying trim exclusively.
Kevin Harvick – Started in race trim and had great speed. He was the fastest driver in race trim. Went to qualifying trim 45 minutes into practice. Using his Chicagoland chassis. His team is very confident in this chassis. Jumped to the top of the speed chart in qualifying trim with about 14 minutes remaining.

Joey Logano – Started in race trim. His car looked pretty good. Was in race trim for about the first hour. Only made 1 run in qualifying trim and it was successful. Was happy with his car in race trim and qualifying trim.
Michael McDowell – Reported that he was a little tight, but the splitter is “pretty darn good.” He seemed to like his car.
