Daytona 500 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Daytona 500 practice session #1 was all about getting in a fast lap for qualifying tomorrow. There really isn’t any applicable information that you could take away other than who’ll be a favorite for qualifying on Sunday at 3:10 PM.
Some key take aways from the session:
The Fords as a manufacture showed really good single car speed across the board. Penske, Stewart-Haas Racing, Roush and Petty Motorsports were all quick.
In one lap runs Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski ranked as 1st and 2nd.
Furniture Row Racing had a really tough time passing inspection to get out on the track (Truex Jr. and Erik Jones).
Dale Earnhardt Jr. tested at Darlington during the off-season to test out his health in a race car.
Daniel Suarez has a fast car and he made quite a bit of runs.
Clint Bowyer seems very upbeat this season with his new ride (#14)
