Daytona 500 NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
NOTE: Final practice is mostly just for running a few laps with the race engine and making sure everything is OK.
Toyota – DJ Kennington was the only driver of that manufacturer who practiced.
Fords – Penske Racing and many of the Stewart-Haas Racing entries worked together in the draft in the opening minutes of practice.
David Ragan – Really happy with his car. Said it was the best he’s had here in a few years. Said his car drives good. Likes his speed and handling. Sounds like his main goal is to just focus on the last segment.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Started with a 14 lap run. Fell back in the pack and then worked his way towards the front. Wanted his ride to be a little smoother because he had a vibration. His team changed the drive shaft and it fixed the problem.
Kevin Harvick – Said his car has been freaky fast and he’s been in contention to win both Speed Week races.
