Fantasy NASCAR Low Tier – Las Vegas
Aric Almirola – Last year at 1.5 mile tracks among the fully funded teams Aric Almirola ranked as one of the worst of the worst. Following Atlanta where he finished 27th and had 31st place average running position I’ll admit I’m spooked. At Las Vegas Almirola has proven himself to be a mid-twenties driver. In 4 of the last 5 races here he’s finished between 24th and 26th. Additionally over this five race stretch he has a 23.0 average finish and a 22.4 average running position. Last year at Las Vegas he never really ran well. When the race reached its conclusion he finished 24th and had a 27th place average running position. It should be noted he did miss his pit stall during one round of stops but he was running in the low-twenties at the time so it’s impact was minimal. In 2015 he finished 26th, earned the 20th best driver rating and had a 19th place average running position. In 2014 he finished 25th. (Yahoo B Driver)

Chris Buescher – At Las Vegas I would pencil in Buescher for a result between the low to mid-twenties. At Atlanta in his first race with his new team at a 1.5 mile track he finished 24th and had a 28th place average running position. Last year at Vegas in his lone Monster Energy start he finished 26th and earned the 26th best driver rating. Over the closing 4 races at 1.5 mile tracks last year Buescher had a 20.5 average finish. Michael McDowell – If Michael McDowell can pick up where he ended the 2016 season “performance wise” at 1.5 mile tracks then we should look for him to contend for a low-twenties to mid-twenties finish at Las Vegas. Over the last four races at 1.5 mile tracks in 2016 he ran well and had a 17.25 average finish. Following last weeks race at Atlanta he has me a little nervous with his stinker of a performance finishing many laps down in 29th. At Las Vegas McDowell has a terrible track record, I would recommend that you don’t read into it too much. In his first five starts he finished between 38th and 43rd. In his two most recent he’s finished 29th and 30th. (Yahoo C Driver)
