Auto Club Personal/ Comparative Fantasy Values
Drivers have two types of fantasy value every week. They have Personal Fantasy Value, and Comparative Fantasy Value.
Personal Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver is at a certain track compared to the other venues on the circuit.
Comparative Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver compares to the competition at a certain track.
The levels of fantasy value from best to worst are … Very-High > High > Medium-High > Medium > Low
Let’s talk about Ryan Newman’s fantasy values at Auto Club.
His Personal Fantasy Value is High. Auto Club Speedway has been a great track for him. In 6 of the last 7 races he’s finished between 5th and 14th. In the one race over that stretch he finished outside of that range he was running in 10th with 6 laps to go before he had a flat tire.
His Comparative Fantasy Value is Medium-High. On Sunday I’m not going to set the bar too high for Newman, but I fully expect him to have a solid performance.
