Auto Club NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes

Chase Elliott – His car was very fast. Jeff Gordon really liked his long run speed. Got into the wall about 10 minutes into practice (fixable damage). He thinks something broke. Was happy with his car and thought he was close prior to getting into the wall.

Kyle Busch – Has a very fast car. Jeff Gordon thought he had one of the fastest cars. Spun and didn’t hit anything 35 minutes into practice. Said he’s just missing a little bit on entry this weekend.

Kyle Larson – Was really happy with his car in practice #2. His car did everything he wanted on the track. Following his opening run he said, “It’s not terrible but it’s getting looser as I go.” Tapped the wall 20 minutes into practice, it was fixable damage.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Supposedly he wasn’t the happiest with his car so far this weekend. Working to find the balance. Said he has no grip. Towards the end of practice he said he was still rolling snug.

Clint Bowyer – Started with a 20 lap run. His crew liked his lap times over long runs.
