Martinsville Personal / Comparative Fantasy Values
Drivers have two types of fantasy value every week. They have Personal Fantasy Value, and Comparative Fantasy Value.
Personal Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver is at a certain track compared to the other venues on the circuit.
Comparative Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver compares to the competition at a certain track.
The levels of fantasy value from best to worst are … Very-High > High > Medium-High > Medium > Low
Let’s talk about Kyle Larson’s fantasy values for Martinsville.
His Personal Fantasy Value is Medium-High. On paper it hasn’t been a good track for him from a career perspective. In recent Martinsville races he’s been performing better. Last fall he finished 14th and had an 11th place average. In spring 2016 he had his best Martinsville result and finished 3rd. Prior to that his track record was downright ugly.
His Comparative Fantasy Value is high. He’s entering the race with a tremendous amount of momentum and right now I don’t think he can do anything wrong. Look for him to run well on Sunday and finish in the top ten.
