Jamie McMurray – Jamie McMurray should contend for a top ten finish at Texas. At intermediate tracks in lowest down force package races him and Brad Keselowski are 6 for 6 in terms of finishing in the top ten on this track type. Between the six races he’s finished between 6th and 10th every race. This year at intermediate tracks McMurray has been solid. He has the 6th best driver rating, an 8.0 average finish and a 10th place average average running position. Las Vegas is the most similar of the three tracks visited and at that venue he finished 8th and earned the 11th best driver rating. (Yahoo B Driver)

Ryan Blaney -Ryan Blaney has been competitive at intermediate tracks this year. I believe picking drivers who’ve had success on this track type in 2017 is the best way to have a good afternoon in what is essentially a new track debut. In the last two races on this track type Blaney has come home with finishes of 7th and 9th. His 7th place finish was at Las Vegas and I view that race as having the highest level of correlation to Texas. Additionally at that venue he earned the 5th best driver rating and had an 8th place average running position. On Sunday I expect Blaney to finish in the low double digits and compete for a top ten. One attribute that should be noted about Ryan Blaney is that he’s finished in the top ten every other week this year, if that trend holds true then he’s due for a good performance at Texas. Erik Jones – At Texas Erik Jones won’t be at a rookie disadvantage this week. Everybody will essentially be a rookie since the track is essentially brand new. At intermediate tracks this year Erik Jones has proven himself to be a low double digits finisher. His results for the season are 12th (Auto Club), 14th (Atlanta) and 15th (Las Vegas). Additionally over those three races he has a 13.7 average finish and a is tied for the 5th best average running position (9.7 average running position). On Sunday look for him to finish in the low double-digits and challenge for a top ten. (Yahoo C Driver)
