Texas NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Kyle Busch – Spun and hit the wall an hour and forty-five minutes into the session. Said he had a real bad vibration. His team will fix their primary car. Kyle Busch likes the car. (Funny GIF of him having to go to the care center).

Erik Jones – When he first got out on the track early he said all four tires chattered. His car got better as the session went along. Said his car had good speed in an interview. Got into the wall very hard two hours into practice. He will be going to a backup car.

Chase Elliott – Spun and totaled his car in qualifying trim two hours and fifteen minutes into practice. Will be going to a backup car. Said he thought his original car was pretty good. Doesn’t have any additional cars at the track this weekend.

Denny Hamlin – Spun in the opening minute of practice and didn’t hit anything. He said he was only driving into the corner at 70%. An hour and fifteen minutes into practice he said, “Loose, shaking the tires really bad. That just feels like the car is moving all around compared to where we were.”

Aric Almirola – Said the track was really slippery. Has a brace on his right wrist but said he would be OK. During a run an hour into practice he reported that his car was better.
