Bristol Fantasy NASCAR -The Low Tier
Michael McDowell – If Michael McDowell can have a smooth race he might be able to come home with a high-teens to low-twenties finish. At this venue carnage to the competition will be a big friend. In 3 of the last 5 Bristol races McDowell finished between 18th and 22nd. Last summer by his standards he had a good race. When the checkered flag waved he finished 19th and had a 23rd place average running position. I will note the carnage in that race was pretty high so he did finish artificially good. In the two Bristol races prior to that he finished 29th and 31st. In the two events prior to those poor results he finished 18th and 22nd. (Yahoo C Driver)
Landon Cassill – Among drivers in the really low tier Landon Cassill might be one of the most attractive fantasy options. Finishing in the low twenties is a task that Landon Cassill has proven himself capable of accomplishing. In 4 of the last 7 races at Thunder Valley he’s finished between 20th and 23rd. In 2016 at Bristol he had a career year and finished in the low-twenties in both events. Last summer he had his all-time best result and finished 20th. As you could expect carnage certainly helped him out quite a bit. His average running position in that event was 20th. In the spring event he finished 22nd, had a 16th place average running position and led 20 laps through pit strategy. In 2015 he had a dismal year finishing 38th and 43rd. (Yahoo C Driver)

Danica Patrick – At Bristol Danica Patrick has typically been a high-twenties driver. In 6 of her 9 starts she’s finished between 26th and 29th. Lately she’s been finishing in 27th a lot, in 3 of the last 5 races she’s finished in that position. Last summer she finished slightly better than her typical finish range and crossed the finish line in 22nd. Additionally in the race she had a 30th place average running position. In the two Bristol races prior to that she had back to back 27th’s. In neither of those events did she run well. In spring 2015 she had her best Bristol result and finished 9th. It’s important to note that was a race of attrition and she was spared. (Yahoo B Driver)
David Ragan – David Ragan is a risky fantasy prospect at Bristol. In order for him to get a respectable result he’ll need the help of attrition and then be able to dodge it himself. I’m not confident he can avoid trouble. In 3 of the last 4 Bristol races he’s finished 39th or worse. Last summer at Bristol he had his one result outside of that terrible finish range and came home with a 21st place result. In that race it should be noted he finished 3 laps down and had a 28th place average running position. (Yahoo C Driver)
