Bristol Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Kevin Harvick – Kevin Harvick will be tough to beat at Bristol. He’s the most recent winner and over the last couple of races at Thunder Valley he’s arguably been the strongest performer. Currently at Bristol he has three straight top tens, over this stretch he has the best driver rating, best average finish (3.3) and the best average running position (6.3). Last summer at Bristol he had a great car and was dominant over the last quarter of the race. In addition to winning he earned the best driver rating, had a 6th place average running position and led 128 laps. Where he really excelled was running the low-line. In spring 2016 he finished 7th, earned the 2nd best driver rating, had a 4th place average running position and led 13 laps. Strength wise he had the 2nd best car. In August 2015 he was very strong and likely had the best car at the end. He finished 2nd and earned the 6th best driver rating. It should be noted his race wasn’t incident free. In order to earn his good result Harvick had to overcome two speeding penalties he incurred while running in the top seven. In spring 2015 he had a great car but was involved in a wreck while running in 3rd. Prior to wrecking he led 184 laps. (Yahoo A Driver)

Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson is a strong performer at Bristol who should be viewed as a favorite. Week in and week out he’s performed at an extremely high-level this year and that will continue at Bristol. Currently at Thunder Valley he has three straight misleading results (top five potential in each of those races) which might help keep him off the fantasy radar of some. Running the high-line is the fastest way around Bristol and perhaps nobody is better than Larson at running that groove. Last summer at Bristol he had a great car and had to work his way to the front multiple times. He was caught speeding on pit road on lap 77 while running in 3rd, spun on lap 308 while running in 4th but then was later caught up in the Kyle Busch carnage while running in 6th which led to his 24th place finish. In spring 2016 he might’ve been top five good but his race wasn’t incident free. While he was running in 3rd on lap 147 his track bar broke which sent him to the garage and dropped him 37 laps down. In August 2015 he looked very strong but finished 41st after having multiple problems (flat tire, commitment cone violation, flat tire again and got into the wall hard). In spring 2015 he ran very well. He earned the 2nd best driver rating, led 90 laps and finished 7th. During his rookie year at Bristol he came home with results of 10th and 12th. (Yahoo B Driver)

Joey Logano – Joey Logano is a very strong performer at Bristol and he’ll be viewed as a favorite. Over the last five events he has two wins and has finished in the top ten in 4 of the last 5 races. Over this stretch minus spring 2015 he has a 5.5 average finish, 9.0 average running position and has led 294 laps. Last year at Bristol he finished 10th both races and was one of just two drivers who finished in the top ten both events. Last August he had a strong car. When the checkered flag waved he finished 10th, had a 12th place average running position and led 38 laps. In spring 2016 he had a great car and finished 10th. That’s a remarkable result when you take into account a speeding penalty, a lug nut problem and a battery issue. His last problem happened with 35 laps to go when he couldn’t get up to speed during a restart while he was in 5th which dropped him back to 17th. In August 2015 he had a great car and outraced Kevin Harvick en route to victory lane. In the race Logano earned the best driver rating, had a 3rd place average running position and led 176 laps. In spring 2015 who knows how good he was because he was taken out in an early wreck in the first 20 laps . In summer 2014 he led 76 laps and got his first win at Bristol. In 2017 in every race minus Phoenix Logano has finished between 3rd and 6th. (Yahoo A Driver)
