Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Bristol
Kyle Busch – Last summer at Bristol Kyle Busch was the class of the field but walked away with a misleading 39th place result. His asterisk mark result is the product of a parts failure that led to him wrecking. Prior to his track bar breaking on lap 358 he led a race high 256 laps. It should be noted it’s not often a driver who finishes 39th earns the 2nd best driver rating. If he didn’t have that parts failure there’s no question he was the driver to beat.
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson had an extremely fast car last summer. He battled his way to the front on a few occasions which shows just how good he was. He was caught speeding on pit road on lap 77 while running in 3rd, spun on lap 308 while running in 4th but then was later caught up in the Kyle Busch carnage while running in 6th which led to his 24th place finish.
Martin Truex Jr. – Martin Truex Jr. had a very strong car last summer at Bristol but finished an asterisk mark 23rd. In our exclusive PROS Rankings he was ranked as the 3rd best. Unfortunately his race wasn’t incident free and he was caught up in the carnage of Kyle Busch’s wreck. At the time of that incident Truex Jr. was running in 3rd.
