Kansas NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes

Kyle Larson – Hit the wall and damaged his car 5 minutes into practice. His team will be going to a backup car. Said he felt like he would crash every lap so far this weekend in an interview. An hour into practice his crew chief said, “You’re the fastest one out there.”

Jamie McMurray – Got into the wall about 20 minutes into practice. It was basically just right rear damage. His team repaired his car and he returned to the track about an hour later. When he returned to the track in qualifying trim he jumped to the top of the speed chart.

Aric Almirola – Happy with his car. Said he unloaded with a lot of speed, it drove good and was comfortable drive. Felt good with his car after a 20 lap run.Went to qualifying trim after 40 minutes of practice.

Austin Dillon – 20 minutes into practice he thought he knew exactly what type of changes his car would need for tomorrows race. 30 minutes into practice he felt really good about his car (7th on speed chart) and he then went to qualifying trim.

Ryan Blaney – Worked on long runs. Best 20 lap average. Said his car is OK and close. Went to qualifying trim with about 35 minutes to go.
