Dover Early Week Pre-Practice Top 20 Fantasy Projections
We’re officially a third of the way through the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season and we have yet to see Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, or Matt Kenseth in victory lane. But that could very well change this weekend. The events at Dover International Speedway make for some great racing action to watch, as you have a short, one-mile race track with speeds closer to an intermediate cookie cutter. Qualifying up front at “The Monster Mile” greatly increases your chances of leading the most laps, as the front row qualifiers have led 809 of the 2005 laps ran here over the last five races (40.3%). With that being said, only one of those ten drivers ended up in victory lane–Martin Truex, Jr. last fall. In fact, Truex is the only top 5 qualifier that has won here at Dover in the last five races, so keep that in mind this weekend.
