Dover NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Joey Logano – Said he was back in the ball park and his team hit up on something between practice sessions. His team fine tuned this session. Didn’t make any long runs and the broadcast booth thought his car wasn’t really where it needed to be.
Jimmie Johnson – Had a very strong car this session. Did more practice coming to pit road. Jeff Gordon thought Johnson would be one of the drivers to beat based on how his car performed.
Austin Dillon – Early in practice he said, “The entry to 3, it’s bouncing pretty bad.” 20 minutes into practice he said he was lacking grip but his team told him they have a plan to fix it.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – 10 minutes into practice while he was 14th on the speed chart he said, “I’m loose in and off, tight center. That’s different than last practice.” 25 minutes into practice he said, “I’m just a little edgy lifting, then I’m ok. The front dribbles through the corner like a basketball.” Late in practice he said, “I got that hum in the wheel again. The whole car felt like the air pressures were different.” Right at the end he said he had a lot of ride quality issues.
Matt DiBenedetto – “Might be on the splitter, little bouncy heading into three here. I think I’m gonna run a few more laps to see where it goes.” 25 minutes into practice he said his car is a bit more edgy and his ride heights seem off. Late in practice during a run he said his car felt better for a few laps and then it gets tight.
