Pocono Early Week Pre-Practice Top 20 Fantasy Projections
We visit the most unique track on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series schedule this weekend. Pocono Raceway, otherwise known as “The Tricky Triangle,” is a 2.5-mile tri-oval in the heart of the Pocono mountains, and the races here tend to be susceptible to rain. That’s exactly how Chris Buescher pulled over a surprise win here last season. The forecast for this weekend looks pretty good, though. To be successful at Pocono, a team has to have a good engine package and good handling through two of the turns (it’s rare for a driver to be happy in all three turns) as well as good strategy–don’t be surprised if Sunday’s Pocono 500 comes down to fuel mileage or another kind of strategy call. At 2.5 miles in length, teams can pit under green here and not lose a lap.
