Kentucky Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Joey Logano – Joey Logano is sort of a risky fantasy prospect at Kentucky because it’s hard to know what to expect from him. This year at 1.5 mile tracks he was spectacular until his team got caught cheating. In his two post-cheating races at 1.5 mile tracks things haven’t gone well. Some good news is that Michigan is the most recent intermediate track visited and he finished 3rd there. Last year at Kentucky Logano had a short race but showed top ten potential. On lap 41 while he was running around 8th he had some contact with the wall and damaged his car. On lap 54 his tire blew up and he crashed hard into the wall that led to his 39th place finish. Erik Jones – At Kentucky I would look for Erik Jones to be a low double digits driver who could potentially sneak in a top ten. In the last two races at 1.5 mile tracks he’s been top ten good. He finished 7th at Charlotte and if he didn’t spin late at Kansas he would’ve also likely finished in the top ten. Last year at Kentucky in his incident free race he finished 4th. (Yahoo C Driver)
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Don’t overlook Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at Kentucky. He’s been a very solid driver at 1.5 mile tracks this year. For the season at tracks of this length minus Las Vegas where he had problems he has a 13.3 average finish, a 13.5 average running position and has finished between 11th and 15th every race. At Kentucky it’s certainly not unreasonable to expect him to finish around that range again. Last year at Kentucky nobody had a shorter race than Stenhouse and he crashed out finishing dead last after only completing 9 laps. (Yahoo B Driver)
