Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Kentucky
Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney had a very strong car last year at Kentucky but you would never know it by looking at his 35th place finish. Performance wise he was a top five contender until he was taken out in a wreck on lap 88 shortly after a restart. At the time of his wreck he was running around 5th.
Martin Truex Jr. – Martin Truex Jr. had one of the best cars last year at Kentucky but finished a misleading 10th. Performance wise I have no doubt he was top three good but he got a costly pit road penalty around lap 200 while he was running in 2nd when he passed cars on pit road. Then right at the end when he should’ve been able to make it on fuel he elected to pit again which led to his misleading result.
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson likely had a great car last summer at Kentucky but finished 32nd. On lap 32 shortly after a restart while he was running in 5th he got loose and wrecked.
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch was a top five contender last year at Kentucky but finished a misleading 12th after being negatively affected by the fuel mileage element at the end.
