Indianapolis NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – 15 minutes into practice he said, “That was a very small improvement in left front grip.” At that time he completed 9 laps and was 6th on the speed chart. Towards the end when it appears he was in qualifying trim he said, “got no front or rear end grip.” Towards the end he said, “The steering in this thing is so fast, it just takes off on me. It’s way ahead of me. It’s holding me back.”
Chris Buescher – Started in race trim. 10 minutes into practice while he was 19th on the speed chart he said his security in the turns was a lot better. Spent the last 20 minutes in qualifying trim. In qualifying trim he said he needed more grip in turns 1&2 but was really good in turns 3&4.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Started in race trim and then towards the end he went to qualifying trim. Started with a 5 lap run that put him 18th on the speed chart.
