Pocono NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Martin Truex Jr. – Was parked for the first 30 minutes. His crew chief said they finished in the ball park at the end of practice #1. Ran 9 laps and ended the session 7th on the speed chart.
Ryan Blaney – Hit the fence slightly. Won’t be an issue. Had very good speed in race trim. Said he has decent speed in his car. I think he has a good car this weekend.
Kyle Larson – Has a very fast car this weekend. Worked on fine tuning in Happy Hour. Towards the end in an interview he said it’s hard to drive and not consistent. Don’t let his statements scare you off because he’ll be good.
Paul Menard – Started in qualifying trim and reported he was too loose. He was 12th on the speed chart 7 minutes into practice. Later in practice when he was in race trim he said he was happy with changes to his car.
Austin Dillon – Started practice too loose. Wanted his car to be tightened up. 10 minutes into practice he was 22nd on the speed chart. Ran 15 laps and ended the session 21st on the speed chart.
