Pocono Fantasy NASCAR Confidence Ranking Picks
1) Martin Truex Jr.
Start 2nd / DraftKings $10,500 / Yahoo A
Pocono Fantasy Outlook – Martin Truex Jr. has a lot of speed every race and Pocono won’t be an exception. I expect him to run very well on Sunday. Performance wise I think he’ll finish in the top five and compete for the win. At Pocono Truex is a past champion who’s typically run well despite having quite a few recent misleading results. This spring he started in the rear of the field but finished 6th. In 2016 he was competitive but had problems in both races. In summer 2015 he was top 3 good but ran out of fuel while running in 2nd with two laps to go. In spring 2015 he led 97 laps and raced his way to victory lane. Indy is a similar track and last week at that venue he likely had the second best car but was taken out in a wreck.
2) Kyle Busch
Start 1st / DraftKings $10,700 / Yahoo A
Pocono Fantasy Outlook – Kyle Busch will be tough to beat at Pocono. He was dominant this spring, but victory lane eluded him after a late caution put him at a tire disadvantage which led to his 9th place finish. Additionally in the race he earned the best driver rating, had a 2nd place average running position and led 100 laps. In practice the #18 car was very quick. In Happy Hour he had the fastest overall speed, and the fastest 10 lap average. Indy is a similar track and last week at that venue Kyle Busch was the class of the field but was taken out in a wreck. On Sunday look for him to finish in the top five and compete for the win.
3) Kevin Harvick
Start 6th / DraftKings $10,200 / Yahoo A
Pocono Fantasy Outlook – Look for Kevin Harvick to be a factor at Pocono. He finished runner-up this spring and in 5 of the last 6 races he’s had a result in the top ten. The only race he finished outside the top ten over this stretch his engine blew up while battling for the lead. This spring in addition to finishing 2nd he earned the 2nd best driver rating, ranked as the fastest driver early in a run, and the second fastest driver late in a run. Last year at Pocono Harvick had results of 2nd and 4th. On Sunday I would look for Harvick to compete for a top five and be a factor to win.
