Watkins Glen NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Drivers parked for the first 15 minutes: Jimmie Johnson, Ty Dillon, Ryan Newman and Cole Whitt
Kyle Larson – Will be parked for the first 30 minutes of happy hour because of a pit road incident last week.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Spun out 8 minutes into practice and didn’t hit anything. He said his car was steering very hard and was loose. 40 minutes into practice when he was 24th he said he was snappy loose.
AJ Allmendinger – 40 minutes into practice while he was 22nd on the speed chart he said, “There is no grip in the car. I can’t touch the brakes without wheel hopping.”

Jamie McMurray – Was 6th on the speed chart 45 minutes into practice. At that time he said, “I miss turn 1 every time because I lock the brakes up.”
Michael McDowell – 30 minutes into practice he reported that he’s loose through left hard turns and needs more right rear grip. At the time of those comments he was 4th on the speed chart. Ended the session 10th on the speed chart.
