Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Chicagoland
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson had a strong car last year at Chicagoland but finished a misleading 18th. Performance wise he was easily top ten good. In the race he started in the rear of the field but had no problems advancing in the running order. At the end he was on pace to finish in 7th, but with 7 laps to go while he was running in 7th he made an unexpected pit stop.
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson had one of the best cars last year at Chicagoland but finished a misleading 12th. With 31 laps to go while he was running in 2nd he was caught speeding on pit road. From the race it should be noted he led a race high 118 laps.
Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott was the driver to beat last year at Chicagoland. If there wasn’t a late caution he would’ve won his first career race. Instead he finished 3rd after pitting from the lead late and then restarting in 5th.
