New Hampshire NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Chase Elliott – His crew chief is suspended this week, so is his car chief. Got into the wall hard 30 minutes into practice and will be going to a backup car. He’ll be able to keep his starting position since his problem happened before qualifying. Didn’t practice anymore after wrecking because his team wanted his car to be right for qualifying.

Jimmie Johnson – Got into the wall hard and he’ll be going to a backup car. He’ll be able to keep his starting position since his problem happened before qualifying. Didn’t climb into his backup car until there was about 20 minutes remaining.

Kasey Kahne – Has a new crew chief this weekend. Was happy with his car this session. In qualifying trim while he was 3rd he said his car was super comfortable and they just need to work on fine tuning.

Ty Dillon – 45 minutes into practice while he was 30th in race trim he said “Definitely the more you free me up the better it is.” Liked some changes made 50 minutes into practice and after that he went to qualifying trim.

AJ Allmendinger – 20 minutes into practice he said, “Car is really good getting in, doesn’t turn the center well and tight in the middle. Kind of stuck in the middle of the corner.”
