The Low Tier – Charlotte
Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick should prove to be a high-teens to low-twenties driver at Charlotte. In incident free races at intermediate tracks that’s proven to be her typical finish range. This spring she didn’t have a good race and finished 25th. That’s a pretty good result though when you take into account she got into the wall hard a few times. Prior to the first time she got into the wall on lap 175 she looked like a low to mid-twenties performer. Last fall at Charlotte Patrick finished 11th. Don’t read into that result because it was a super high-attrition race where quite a few other drivers who typically aren’t competitive snuck in good results. In spring 2016 Patrick finished 21st and had a 25th place average running position. In 2015 she finished 22nd in the spring, and 19th in the fall. (Yahoo B Driver)

Michael McDowell – Michael McDowell has had his best Charlotte results in the last two races here. Hopefully his good finish trend can continue. This spring he finished 19th and had a 22nd place average running position. Last fall at Charlotte in a super high attrition race he finished 14th. In the five Charlotte races prior to that he finished 29th or worse. His equipment in those events wasn’t on par with what he’s currently driving. On Sunday look for him to likely be a high-teens driver. (Yahoo C Driver)
David Ragan – At Charlotte I would look for David Ragan to be a mid to high-twenties driver. If the attrition rate is high and he dodges trouble he should be able to finish slightly better. Currently at Charlotte he has back to back 23rd’s. It should be noted the attrition rate was pretty high in both of those events. This year at 1.5 mile tracks in 6 of the 7 races Ragan has finished between 23rd and 29th. (Yahoo C Driver)
Landon Cassill – Don’t set the bar high for Landon Cassill at Charlotte. Unless the attrition rate is high he’ll be a mid-twenties driver. This spring Cassill didn’t have a good race. He finished 28th, had a 29th place average running position and earned the 29th best driver rating. Last fall at Charlotte in a high-attrition race Landon Cassill finished 19th. In the two Charlotte races prior to that he had results of 27th and 23rd. (Yahoo C Driver)
