Charlotte NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Hit the wall hard in the first 5 minutes. He will be going to a backup car. At the time of his problem he was practicing in race trim. Made two runs in his backup car. During his first run he was very loose.
Brad Keseloewski – Brushed the wall 40 minutes into practice. His team will repair his car.
Kyle Busch – Slapped the wall hard with less than 10 minutes to go in practice. His car will be repaired.
Drivers who were in qualifying trim, or appeared to be in that setup the entire session: Newman, Hamlin, Blaney, McDowell, Kyle Busch, Jones, Keselowski, Truex, Suarez, Almirola and Kenseth

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Early in practice he said his car didn’t feel compliment with the track and didn’t like his grip. 40 minutes into practice he said he was plowing tight. 45 minutes into practice while he was 27th his crew chief said, “work on balance, don’t worry about lap times.” Was still struggling with his car late in practice.
David Ragan – Got into the wall early but his team is opting to repair his car. Only ran 3 laps.
