Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Kansas
Kurt Busch – Kurt Busch had a good car and was a top five contender this spring but during the final restart with under 10 laps to go he had contact with Johnson that damaged his car leading to his 19th place finish. At the time of the incident he was running around 5th.
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson was a top five contender this spring but during the final restart with less than 10 laps to go he damaged his car and spun after contact with Kurt Busch. When the checkered flag waved he finished 24th.
Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin had a strong showing this spring and was easily top ten good but finished a misleading 23rd after some involvement in the Johnson and Kurt Busch incident. His car didn’t look that damaged, but he elected to pit for repairs which plummeted him in the running order.
Ryan Newman – Ryan Newman showed top ten potential this spring at Kansas but finished an asterisk mark 40th. His misleading result is the product of an engine failure on lap 154 while running in 9th. If he didn’t have that problem I think he had a great chance to finish in the top ten.
