Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Texas
Austin Dillon – Austin Dillon’s race this spring at Texas was essentially over before it started. When the Green Flag waved he was in the garage area missing the first 12 laps because of a trailing arm parts failure. That problem doomed him to a 33rd place finish.
Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney had a great car this spring at Texas. “Performance Wise” I thought he had the best car. He won Stage #1, won Stage #2 and led a race high 148 laps. His asterisk result can be traced to two points in the race. The first was a late caution near the end of Stage #2 where much of the field pitted, but him and a few other front runners stayed out. He then had to pit during the Stage caution which dropped him back in the field. Later in the race with 34 laps to go while he was running in the top ten his team had a disastrous pit stop when his car fell off the jack.
