Texas NASCAR Practice #2 Notes

Drivers who were penalized practice time this session: Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch were both penalized 30 minutes.

Paul Menard – Daniel Hemric was driving his car again. Ten minutes into practice while he was 23rd he said, “It’s getting tight rolling center & it carries center exit,” Menard will drive the #27 in Happy Hour. 40 minutes into practice while he was 29the he said, “That was a gain of carrying more speed off the wall.”

Chase Elliott – 20 minutes into practice while he was 6th he said he needs better handling into the corners. He later climbed up to the top of the speed chart. Was happy with his car in race trim on Friday. Had a good car this session.

Austin Dillon – Started the session with a run that put him 12th on the speed chart. His team reported that the car is pretty good so far. Ran 31 laps and ended the session 22nd.

Ty Dillon – His car was battling loose. 20 minutes into practice while he was 28th he said, “Feels like the car is totally out of the track on entry.”

Jimmie Johnson – Loose. Said his car was going in the right direction after changes.
