Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Phoenix
Kurt Busch – This spring at Phoenix, Kurt Busch finished an asterisk mark 25th. It’s hard to say just how good he was because he had electrical issues develop very early in the race. His team went thru so many batteries that if he had another fail, he would’ve DNF’ed. In the five Phoenix races prior to the event this spring he finished between 5th and 7th.
Joey Logano – Joey Logano had a great car this spring but finished a misleading 31st. In the race he started on the pole, led 82 laps and likely would’ve easily finished in the top ten if his race would’ve been incident free. His first major problem happened on lap 118 while he was running around 5th when he was caught speeding on pit road, that dropped him back to 30th. Around that time he also started to develop some brake issues. He battled back though and was running in 11th with 6 laps to go when he had a tire explode which led to him crashing hard into the wall.

Matt Kenseth – Matt Kenseth had the best PROS Rankings last fall, this spring he wasn’t nearly as strong. Performance wise he was probably really about mid-teens good. On lap 121 while he was running around 15th he had a flat tire and got into the wall hard which led to his 37th place finish.
Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney had a fast car this spring but finished a misleading 23rd. During late pit stops with about 54 laps to go he was caught speeding on pit road. At the time of that incident he was running around 13th. Additionally it should be noted he finished 7th in Stage #1, 8th in Stage #2 and had a 10th place average running position.
