Homestead NASCAR Practice #2 Notes

Martin Truex Jr. – Using a brand new chassis. Started with a 15 lap run, very fast. Got slightly into the wall 35 minutes into practice. Ended the session early for repairs even though the damage was minimal. They just wanted to make sure things were right.

Kyle Busch – Started with a 14 lap run. Had good speed. Made a 15 lap run late in practice and looked really good. Did some pit road practice but missed pit road.

Denny Hamlin – Very fast. Best 5 lap and 10 lap average speeds.

Kevin Harvick – Started with a long run and appeared to be really happy with his car.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – His team is going to be very willing to gamble this weekend. He was running right up against the wall. Following his opening run which put him 2nd on the speed chart he said he’s loose in and off, tight in the center. Midway through practice he said he improved in the center of the turns. 40 minutes into practice he said, “No rear grip, I’m way out of the track big time. That hurt the center.”
