Atlanta NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Kyle Larson – Was solely focused on qualifying trim. Said he had a good test at Vegas so hopefully his car should be good off the truck in race trim. Jumped to the top of the speed chart when he made his first qualifying run.
Denny Hamlin – Said his car is getting there. Did a long run in race trim. Said he has a good feel for it. Happy with his speed.

Austin Dillon -Stayed in qualifying trim the entire session. Following his first run he said he was too loose and front turn wasn’t an issue.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – 30 minutes into practice while he was 17th he said, “I’m really, really loose compared to our normal setup here.” 55 minutes into practice he said “No rear grip on entry or exit.” After that he went to qualifying trim. In qualifying trim he jumped to the top of the speed chart late.
Ryan Newman – Started in race trim and was 5th quickest 20 minutes into practice. 35 minutes into practice he reported he was a little on the free side after running 10 laps. About an hour into practice he said, “Pretty good. I missed it a little bit. There is more speed in the car.”
