Phoenix NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Was in qualifying trim exclusively. During his first lap he got hard into the wall hard 20 minutes into practice. His team thought something broke. Had issues with his brakes and something in his left front locked up.

Kevin Harvick – His car chief is suspended this weekend. Was in qualifying trim exclusively and had a fast car.

Alex Bowman – Started in race trim. Following an early run in race trim he said his car cut the center of the turn really well. Following his first run in qualifying trim which jumped him up to 5th his crew chief said, “Nice Job.” Late in practice he reported that his car is a little too free.

Kyle Busch – Was in qualifying trim exclusively. Very fast. Happy with his car.

Jamie McMurray – Ended the session 2nd on the speed chart. Said his car has been good. Said he has a good qualifying car today.
