Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Texas
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson was a top five contender last fall at Texas but finished an Asterisk Mark 37th. With 52 laps to go while he was running around the top five he spun into the wall and that marked the end of his race. A little earlier in the race around lap 234 during a yellow he made an extra pit stop because of wheel spacer issue. Prior to his problems Larson finished 4th in Stage #1 and won Stage #2. I think it’s clear he was top five good.

Kyle Busch – Last fall Kyle Busch had a tough race and finished a misleading 19th. When the green flag waved he had contact with Brad Keselowski which caused a good amount of right front nose damage. That led to him making an unexpected pit stop on lap 2 that dropped him two laps down. Later in the race with 59 laps to go he had a flat tire and made another unexpected pit stop. Since his primary problem happened right at the start its hard to say just how good he was.
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson won at Texas last spring, but in the fall he was a dud. “Performance Wise” he might’ve been mid-teens good but when the checkered flag waved he finished 27th. On lap 68 while he was running around 15th he had a vibration and made an unexpected pit stop. He never recovered from that and later got lapped under green so it’s clear he wasn’t that good.
