Richmond NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Martin Truex Jr. – Unloaded with a lot of speed and was very fast over his opening 11 lap run. His opening run put him at the top of the speed chart.
Denny Hamlin – His car was really on the splitter early. He said he was plowing tight and something wasn’t correct. Wasn’t too thrilled with his car following a run 40 minutes into practice.

Daniel Hemric – Making his series debut. His opening run put him 22nd on the speed chart. Following his opening run he said, “Entry balance isn’t that bad. I expected to be a lot more free in and I wasn’t.” 45 minutes into practice he said he built tighter throughout a run, but get better with the pitch of he car.
Kevin Harvick – Said his car started off good in race trim. Thinks everything is going well so far this weekend.
Ty Dillon – Ten minutes into practice while he was 18th he said, “Really happy with it. I have really good middle turn, the way I want it to be. I don’t want to do too much.” During his second run he was still happy with his handling. 45 minutes into practice he said, “Exit grip was much better with that shock. I was a little tighter through the center, but not nearly as bad as I was on the last run.”
