Talladega NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes

Jamie McMurray – Flipped ten minutes into practice. He’ll be going to a backup car and will start in the rear of the field. He had a tire go down. Prior to wrecking he had the fastest speed in Happy Hour.

Ryan Newman – Was involved in Jamie McMurray’s accident when the #1 car turned right in front of him. He’ll be going to a backup car and will start in the rear of the field. Said he’ll have a good backup car.

Ty Dillon – He got some damage in the Jamie McMurray accident and will start in the rear of the field in a backup car. Said he was super fast. His backup car is called “Jingles” and it’s performed well in the past at plate tracks.

Daniel Suarez – Got a good amount of damage from McMurray’s incident. He’ll be going to a backup car and will start in the rear of the field.

Aric Almirola – Practiced leading a draft following the “Big One.” Was said to be the fastest in terms of making a single car qualifying run. At the end of practice he said, “Good job everybody. This thing is really fast.”
