Dover NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

NOTE: There was inspection during this practice session which really limited practice for some teams.

Joey Logano – Started with a short 5 lap run in race trim to feel out his car. During his first run his car was tight. He returned out to the track and did another short run in race trim. He ran roughly about 20 laps in race trim. He ended the session 12th after making a qualifying run.

Ryan Blaney – Started in race trim and did an opening run of 8 laps. He then went to qualifying trim. In his first run in qualifying trim he jumped to the top of the speed chart. He ended the session 8th.

Paul Menard – Focused on qualifying trim this session and was at the top of the speed chart early. When the session ended he had the fastest overall speed.

Corey LaJoie – He’s driving the car Cole Whitt normally drives this weekend. His engine blew up late in practice.

Austin Dillon – Focused on qualifying trim. Following his opening 1 lap run he said he was a little tight. During a later run he reported that his entry was good but he was tight pretty much everywhere else.
