Sonoma NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Jimmie Johnson – Said his car has good pace. Said his car drove well. Had some sort of steering issue (Don’t be too concerned). Ended the session 6th.

Clint Bowyer – Very fast this opening session. Appears to have a great car. He ended the session at the top of the speed chart. Had the best 5 lap average.

Kurt Busch – Had a lot of speed. Too free on left turns and too tight on right turns. His team worked to give him more ground clearance. Ended the session 14th. His five lap average ranked as the 3rd best.

AJ Allmendinger – Was in race trim for the entire practice. Said there was no roll in his car which he considers to be good. Ended the session 9th.

Kevin Harvick – Has a fast car. His five lap average ranked as the 2nd best.
